History
Ty Neal, the owner, has an amazing history in the industry, and is no stranger to the restaurant business. He has several successful restaurants on his roster, and Ty’s Roadside Coastal Kitchen is another one he can add to that list. Ty’s a pretty humble guy, and was hesitant on putting his name front and center, but you know what? He deserves it! He bought the restaurant back in 2020, and we learned that it was about five other restaurants before. When he remodeled the restaurant, he stripped almost everything, but left the pizza oven, and actually uses that to cook up some steaks. And if you like all the amazing decor inside, well you can thank his wife for that.
Review
I don’t think you can go wrong with whatever you choose. We only tried the lunch menu, so I’ll have to report back when we go back for dinner. I’d highly recommend the Cream of Crab soup, whipped up by Ty, himself! The Grown-Up Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup, and Pastrami Rueben sandwich were another hit. We also tried the Burrata & Burst Tomato Toast, and it was delicious! How can I forget the drinks? The frozen alcoholic drinks were so tasty! I tried the 3 options, but my favorite was the Dragon Lemonade. There’s also some special beer that was made in collaboration with Tideland Brewing in North Charleston. The kids menu is amazing too, and ranges from $7-$10. There’s so much to try, I could go all day.
The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous – you’re sure to leave with a full stomach and a smile! So if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by Ty’s Roadside and give them a try – you won’t be sorry! And don’t forget to check out more things to do in the Charleston area on my blog linked here.
