Must Have Makeup Products

How are you holding up over there? Are you healthy? Are you sane? I can definitely say I’m healthy. Sane? not so much….. Anyway. I received some DMs to ask about what I’m using, so I figured I would share. Aww how sweet. I know I know.

I usually switch up my products between Department Store brands and Drug Store brands, so I would like to say I’m pretty well rounded. I also have semi sensitive, and combination skin, so I get a tiny bit picky about what I use. All sound good to you? Proceed if so…

Foundation

I alternate between a Department Store brand and a Drug Store brand, and right now, I’m on the Department Store brand. Tarte Shape Tape provides amazing coverage, but it is on the pricer side. I get a really good stretch out my foundations though, so I don’t mind spending a bit more on them. I usually use it 1 of 2 ways, depending on what type of day it is – 1. Blended with a damp beauty blender (full coverage), or 2. Mixed with moisturizer (light – medium coverage).

Eyebrows

When I was younger, I used to use a dark eye shadow to fill in my brows, but now, I have so many bald spots, so I’ve been using a brow gel. I use to go for the higher end products, but  found that the gel pot from Maybelline works just as good. I don’t use the brush that comes with the gel, since I have no clue how to do little strokes, and don’t have the patience either, lol. I use an angle brush I bought awhile back from Bare Essentials, and just go with the hairline and do my best to not push down too hard. Then I go through with a brush and brush up and out so it looks more natural.

Eyeshadow

Bobbi Brown’s neutral palette is usually my go-to, however, when I was in Ohio, we were given a gift card to shop the mall, so I finally picked up Urban Decay’s Naked palette I’ve been eyeing but just couldn’t bring myself to buy. I’ll tell you what – it is worth every penny!

Eyeliner

I’ve never been able to master the winged liner look so I just go plain and simple. A black pencil liner. I just buy whatever is under $5. This time, I found one by NYX and it was right under $5.

Mascara

My eyelashes are so limp and straight. I can curl my lashes, use every curling mascara there is in the world, and it will still fall flat. When I saw the Liquid Lash Extension from Thrive and all the videos on Instagram, I decided to give it a try. It definitely lengthens my lashes, and doesn’t totally weigh them down. A trick I learned is to hold the wand at the tip of my lashes and push them up and back towards my lids and wait a few seconds. The curl lasts just a tiny bit longer.

Bronzer & Blush

I put this as a combo because if going for a more put together look, I’ll use the 2 separately. If not, then depending on the time of day, I’ll use just the bronzer by itself, or the blush by itself. This blush by Milani is so popular, so I had to give it a try. I can totally see why it’s such a hit! It’s supposed to be a dupe for NARS Orgasm. As for the bronzer, I liked the way the case for the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer looked, so I bought that. Packaging gets me every time!

Finishing Powder

I’ve been using the MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Face Powder. I don’t like anything to heavy or that will give my skin a different color, so this one works perfectly, and it makes my face stay put. No melting witch face for me.

Lips

I typically wear Vaseline as a lip moisturizer, and it gives a natural glossy looks as well. Some people think it’s gross. I have no clue why. If I’m dressing up though, I’ve been really liking L’Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Lip Stain. The color lasts for quite a while if you don’t have any lip moisturizing products underneath.

That’s what I currently have in my arsenal. What’s in yours, and do you have any quick make-up tips?
